About Me

Hi guys welcome to Affiliate Marketing Strategies.!  My name is Ryan, I'm a 37 year old Canadian and I have been working both as a teacher and a drummer for many years.  I have traveled throughout parts of the world (Europe and the Middle East) both as a musician and as a teacher.

My Story

My interest in internet marketing and eventually affiliate marketing really goes back to when I was a working musician.  Music is  an unstable profession so I was always looking for ways to make extra money other than 9-5.

I didn't always succeed in this but I had some small successes and some very big ones as well.  I was always making a few hundred dollars a month flipping items on ebay and drop shipping, but nothing too serous ever came from it.

My real success in alternate money making was when I started performing drums on the streets and this combined with my drop shipping business gave me a steady enough stream of income to travel through Europe for a few months and later to places like Egypt and Israel.  It was a fine gig! and I felt like I had the best of both worlds.  As a street drummer I could make anywhere from $50 to $1000 a day.  (my record!)  When I combined this with ebay sales I was quite comfortable, not rich but comfortable and living a quite fun life style.

This is a video of me breaking my recored:

This was taken during a festival in Ottawa Canada, with more than 50 000 people on the street and in the mood for music.  I broke my record on that day with $1000!

Then My Live Changed

I spent about five years living quite comfortably with this, but eventually my life took a new turn. I met my wife, I got married, and moved to a foreign country. Now I have three beautiful daughters and the life of a street musician with the long nights, travelling, and unpredictable working times made this line of work less and less viable for the new lifestyle I've been leading.

I continued to street perform in Tel Aviv and slowly built up my career as a teacher.  Now I love teaching in high schools and colleges, and I think I will continue it as it is part of my calling: I love it just as much as drumming, but teachers salaries are pretty slim in this part of the world and I wanted to continue travelling.

That's when I got into affiliate marketing and started to supplement my income, the money is great and it's already made my life easier.  It's a game changer actually as I'm sure some of you reading this already know.

What I really enjoy about affiliate marketing is that the investments are reasonably low, meaning minimum to moderate risks, and the hours are flexible etc  The only disadvantage that I would say it has for new people is that there is a big learning curve.  There is just too much information out there and simply too much hype. When I first started I just didn't know where to start and I would jump from one strategy to the next without really accomplishing much.  There are some good courses out there, but there is also a lot of fluff and some courses are really just hype.

That's why I've started this blog, to share the methods that worked, the one's that didn't, and also to review some of the latest affiliate marketing courses and products that are out there.  Like I said theree are some very useful courses and products.  This game is always changing... that's just the nature of the internet, especially goodle!  So there is always something new to learn, either a new method or a new angle on an existing method.

There are some good courses out there and there are some fluffy ones as well. Luckily most courses are pretty cheap, $5-10 so I don't mind spending the money and testing them out.  So in addition to sharing with you free methods that actually work, I will also be doing regular reviews on courses and software that is current and let you know my take on it.  In a nutshell I will tell you what I think is hot, and what is not.  lol

If you are new to internet marketing or a pro looking for other peoples perspectives, I invite you to join me here on this blog to see the free resources and paid resources that I have used with success.  I hope that this can cut the learning curb for all other affiliate marketers who are starting out.

So stay tuned as I will be puttig up valuable material that will walk you through all aspects of affiliate marketing, from choosing the right niche, to building a niche website, to multiple free traffic sources, how to use paid traffic sources, my take on leveraging youtube, as well as social media.

So until then work hard, work smart, and do some damage!
